I love old aprons, but gingham aprons are my favorite. You know the ones - they have chicken scratch embroidery on the gingham pockets and edging. I started finding one here and one there and before I knew it, I had a whole rainbow of aprons. But, I was missing a yellow apron. I mentioned this on my blog one day and lo and behold a few weeks later, a sweet yellow apron arrived in my mailbox. My Aunt had seen the post and made me a yellow one to complete my collection. it was a very nice surprise. I keep stacked up in rainbow order and they make me happy every time I see them.

Well Hello Monkey Box. I spent my entire vacation reading your blog, in reverse order! The Bean went from a big kid to a little kid! (Happy Birthday!)
I blame you for my looking (and picking up) vintage picnic baskets and I am now eye balling glass Christmas ornaments! (my hubby is going to kill me) How do you tell the older ornament balls from the newer ones? All seem to be glass and if they are just bagged??
I almost picked up a metal (looked like wood) the other day. Put it down and told myself that I had been brainwashed ; 0 ) Thought about it all night, ran back the next day GONE!! Arggghhhh!!

Well, Hi Amber rose - Thanks for reading my entire blog! That took some time. :o) Sometimes I go back to my old pages and they are so boring - no photos and mostly coupon talk. BORING! It took me awhile to figure out that I like talking about JUNK.

Christmas ornaments - if they say USA or Shiny Brite on the metal cap then they are old. New ones have plastic tops or really flimsy metal tin feeling tops. The old ones have tight fitting thicker metal tops. Older ones have a patina to them too - softer colors, worn spots inside on the mercury coloring. The indents and ones that say Silent Night or something similar on them are usually old too. I can pretty much spot anything vintage from a mile away.

Metal picnic baskets are high on my wish list to find. I haven't found a picnic basket this entire year (oh sad me, right?) but I suppose having about 28 is really enough. I do have a metal one that looks like wood, but it mas a messed up part on the from where I tired to remove magic marker pricing and the price came off along with the fake wood grain. :(

Thanks for reading - come back! Shara

I couldn't believe I chickened out on that basket. Oh well. I did pick up a green Hawkeye.
I figured there was a trick, and just the "vibe" that comes with experience.
      Thanks for the tips!

Also I do really enjoy your blog. I love that you keep up on your posts! I read some great blogs that only get updated infrequently. I am always curious what people find and try to learn in the process. So...thanks!
