Here's a nice sampling of Mexican lobbby cards for horror movies. What often stands out are the colors, use of fonts and their color, and positioning of the movie scene. Often the subject matter focuses on a female victim being assaulted by some creepazoid. I especially enjoy the masked wrestler-oriented cards, and their subject matter includes vampires, zombies, mummies, and witches, among other nasties. You can view more of my collection at http://www.zomboscloset.com/zombos_closet_of_horror_b/mexican-horror/.

Often the card condition is not ideal, but given the nature of these cards, it's hard to find them in very good and up condition. I preserve them using mylar sleeves and buffered backing boards that are acid free. Many of these lobby cards show acid browning, so I try to arrest that as much as possible.

These are amazing - thanks for sharing! The combo of sex-appeal and horror is particularly creepy. Love them :)

Good way to put it. Sex and terror sells (at least to the male audience ;). Go figure. I'll post more, especially the Luche Libre ones, which I really enjoy.

My daughter and I were visiting a friend in Patagonia, AZ a few years back and crossed the border, about 25 min, into Nogales. There, we did what we always do, and found a delapated old Junk" store--Shelves that were untouched, crumbling etc--We found an old weather-beaten shop-keep, and I asked about VHS movie ( I collect them too-)-and was led to another dirt floor " add on room" to the shop. I honestly was afraid to go in--my daughter (an adult) refused to. In there, I found ,probably, the movies that went with your movie cards... Same GREAT covers. for 25 cents American each. There were 7, I recall. I was going to sell them on eBay. But to my "horror" bugs had made "adobe haciendas" inside!! Ha ha!! Still, I cleaned them out, and cleaned the cases to sparkling --all ready??? NO! First thing I should have dome was try to play them!! EEEEK! Full of bug parts--the cemetery?? Well, I gave up and tossed everything--
-Now I find ("maybe?) the very person who would have live to display the clean and shiny boxes???
