In the mid-1920s, the Moser glass works was doing colored crystal vessels with oroplastic figures from ancient Rome and Greece as well as their mythologies. Loetz followed suit in the late 1920s, with two decors, "Figuren", which usually depicted a lone figure inside a medallion on the face of the vessel, and "Etrusk", which is shown here - in larger figures that encircle the entire vessel. Cased glass blue overlay over clear glass, with acid cut back and gilt decoration in relief. Unmarked, ground and polished pontil.
Wow, this is a stunner.
