My dad, born in 1917, told me that his great-grandparents brought this chair from England. I remember it from my earliest memories...it has been reupholstered and refinished a couple of times that I remember. It is heavy, maybe mahogany? Anybody know the style? It has saved my bad back many times. I would never part with it; want to keep it in my family. But I sure would like to know something about its origins. Thanks!

I was so excited to see your rocking chair. I have one just like it and believe it or
not my story is almost identical to yours. My great grandparents came from England, too. My story is that my rocker came to America with them. That is all that I know about it. It was old leather and had a straw like padding. I recovered it about 40 years ago, it is light oak.
