No pun intended! Since I've been less mobile with an injured knee, I have had time to bond with more intricate projects. I found this piece in my barn a year ago... I just didn't have the patience to clean her up! I've been looking into professional restoration. I would love some food for thought... Anyone with knowledge on marquetry or pieces like this would be greatly appreciated.

I'll go out on a limb and make a comment or two!
Those eagles look Austrian; northern Italian? Thought bubbles. Do you have a stand for it? Are there any secret drawers? It looks like it's ebony, ebonised with bone/ivory inlay. The handles might well be original. You really should have it looked at by a professional. A very beautiful cabinet.
This is the type of stand for it:

The English bought them in Italy on the Grand Tour and had a stand made for them at home in England when they got back. Only an expert will be able to tell you if it's authentic.
At any rate you have a wonderful cabinet.
Thanks for sharing it with us!
