Please I need help on this. This Certificate always baffled me. First, I am not sure of the date as it is almost completely faded away. My guess is 1883. I know it was up in our attic for 30 some years. (1954) till my parents sold the house in 1989. (and I had spotted it, and had it ever since). I believe it had to be someone on my mothers side. I don't even have a clue who the name that is in English on it is. As you can see, it's in English. "Karl Friedrich".
I also do not even have any clue to what type of certificate it is, nor do I know who was German or spoke German in my family.
On the bottom it reads: Rev. John Perier,??? (not sure of the first letter in last name) 258 West 40. Ctr., New York
Does anyone read German? I would love to get some information on it.
P.S. Sorry I don't know what category to put it in?
mustangtony, Thank you for your love and common. Thank you AR&Jason for taking a look at it for me. I will try to see if I can take better pictures. I had purchased a phone camera, and I still having trouble taking pictures with it. I am hoping I will learn how to soon.
AR8Jason I just added different pictures, see if they are better. As far as the writing of the names go, they are to faded. Thanks Kathy
AR8Jason, Thank very much. I don't know where the Luthern in my family came from. Now I am totally confused. My dad is Catholic & my mom was Jewish. Therefore it is a mystery to me. Now I have to see if I can find out anything about that. Thanks Again. Kathy
