I'm in love with my piece of glorious glass, but I have to say it wasn't love at first sight (actual receiving in the hand sight ;) When I saw it with a 'BIN' price of $15.00 on it I was hyperventilating a I pushed my mouse across the desk to the box, and the curser onto the appropriate place of purchase.
In my head I could see all these other people doing the same thing, but I beat them all to it..:-).. now all I had to do was wait for it, and that didn't come easy, I was sooo!! excited.

It didn't say that it was old, it didn't say that it was vaseline or uranium, but! I just had this hair raising thing happening at the back of my neck.

Then it arrived! my heart dropped to the floor I was so disappointed, it look scratched on the inside and there was so much scale two thirds up from the bottom, you couldn't see through it.

But after days of sitting in the sun and soaking it and with de-scaler. this is the vase I am now in love with..till the next one, which is coming...;-)

I did some researched and found this link and have been told it is more than likely also be a Thomas Webb, I would very much like your thoughts on that.

goodness inky you sound just like me when i find something on an auction site -- sometimes i have gotten so excite to place or buy the mouse has ended up clear across the room from a spastic arm jerk -- it is absolutely gorgeous!!!!! cleaned up great -- this type of design always reminds me of the witches balls -- in the glass manufacturing world that i worked in we use to call the ribbons bird swings -- something we did not want to see as it would cause a 100 percent inspection to find other bottles that might have the same defect -- certainly nothing one would want to find in their medicine bottles or wine bottle -- broken glass!!!! gulp gulp hic hic :) :)-- have a great week inky
