These are just a few of many of the available barbie dolls. I do believe that these are the oldest. I looked a couple of things up and found out that the year can be deceiving. The two barbies do say they were made in 1966. The date and copyright are written on the bottom (butt). I do not know if this is their original clothing, but I think there are more clothes. One doll has a number 5 on it and one has a number 9. The Ken says that it was made in 1968. It is also on the bottom. The barbies say Hong Kong while the Ken says China.
Your Barbie's are all newer
here is guide to date them not by date on rear but country
. Look on her bottom and it will show country she was made in you can date all the barbies you posted from this as all are newer . They really are not collectable in todays market :-( But appreciate your sharing them
Mattel© Barbie® and Friends: 1966 Trademarks and Dates
The main marking for Mattel’s Barbie & friends are located on the dolls buttock The date on the doll, is when the trademark was issued, not the year the doll was on the market. A modern Barbie who comes from the mid-1990?s she has a mark on her lower back/waist of: © MATTEL INC 1966
INDONESIA
. There are many more Barbie’s on the market in the 1980-1990?s that have 1966 in their marking. So take your 1966 Date + Add the Country Name: and see below for when she was Actually Produced:
Mattel Barbie & Family:
1959-1972 JAPAN, 1968-1970 MEXICO,
1970-1987 HONG KONG, 1970-1987 TAIWAN,
1973-1978 KOREA, 1978-1988 PHILIPPINES,
1986 to present CHINA, 1986 to present MALAYSIA,
1989-1990 MEXICO, 1992 to present INDONESIA.
All your Barbies are newer not made in 1966 . Go by name of Country on back I have provided with the date 1966 and it shows what year it was really made .
I hope this isn't to confusing but many people are perplexed by date and think they have a old barbie because of them keeping that date and not making new mold dates .
Thank you for your comment. The ones that I posted did have the date on the buttocks, but I do realize that the 1966 date isn't necessarily right. I noticed that you said that the Hong Kong was 1970-1987. Could you let me know what kind of value these have.
The market for this era Barbie has very little value and are good for play dolls not collectible dolls yours are later into the late 80's :-( . Even the early 1959-70's Barbies have dropped in price . If you have more of the Sunshine family dolls I see the dad laying on table ,they would have more value and they are collected more than newer Barbies ,anything after 70's . Hope this helps
Thank you. I guess I will check to see if there are any more Sunshine dolls. Are they fairly collectable? I know absolutely nothing about them.
They are collected by women who had them in the 70's as childhood dolls . The Sunshine Family was in production from 1974 through 1978.
Here is link that shows most of the family and clothes that sold . It is a large collection so don't base on price but will help you ID Sunshine Family dolls made by Mattel .
