Thought I better get a post in before the Schmidt Heads get back with all the great Coca-Cola stuff this weekend.
Snagged my first cardboard sign late last week, acquired on an eBay auction BIN request. I like this '42 version because of the elements portrayed and moment in time represented. The six-pack graphic is a beauty. This sign has condition issues, a little water damage upper left and surface wear throughout. But it looks fine in my opinion. I framed it myself with materials on hand. Someday I may have a matte put on, so as to minimize impact of that stain. I was able to put this presentation together for about the price of a nice 12" button sign, which fits with my recent austerity endeavor (still needs a little fine tuning :).
Sweet cardboard Dave, nice job with the framing too. I love the old tin sign also, nice combination together!
Thanks Bernie! That other one is actually a cardboard sign as well, with a tin frame, used as temporary signs at fairs, ball games, etc., "came out of a barn in Tennesee." I did not expect to be hanging old Coca-Cola signs in that spare bedroom! :)
That a beauty Dave! I was watchin that baby too and ya know, I thought to myself, wonder if Dave will try and snag this one. Sho nuff you did! Love the couple and the 6 pack! Here's to simpler times boys!!
Thanks Perry. It's a lot like fishing, a lot of waiting, no luck, then bam! you hook one!
Yeah, that's a lot of fun.
I really like your new sign the six-pack really stands out!
Thanks Trevor, I appreciate the nice words. Hope everything's going good.
Another BIN Beauty from the master!!! One of these in a Kay frame just popped up in my alerts yesterday.
Thanks Tom! I saw that other listing.. $2500 BIN. Puh-leeze!

This one, $750.

Still high in that condition, but that frame may make it worthwhile.
I am always willing to give in a little where damage is concerned. However, I always try to buy the nicest, this one for $750 is a great buy I think, Just don't know that I'm ready to give the better part of a grand for cardboard, I think you know what I'm sayin.
I sure do know what you're saying! :)
I hear ya loud and clear as well, but it's still on watch and honey did ask what I want for my b-day, lol!!
Good job Daddy_Nonuts, I really like cardboards!
Thanks girlycoke! Always a pleasure to hear from you. I expect you'll be hardwired into the system tomorrow, will send you a note off the grid.
Good Luck To All with Schmidt prospects!!!!
