Hi,
I have this old in-the-drawer table radio that my dad gave me. He told me it is a Tiffany radio, and it is indeed marked Tiffany on the faceplate.
However, when I looked inside the drawer I saw that there is information about a Silvertone chassis and various serial numbers.
I have only been able to find one radio that looks like this online. It is from 1939/1940 but there is no mention of the radio being made by Tiffany's. Maybe Tiffany's made lots of radios for Sears, and it is so common no one bothers to mention it? Please let me know if this is so.
I do not know much about this item. I do not even know if it is common or rare and whether or not it is worth anything (i.e. market value to a collector, etc.) in its current condition. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim
You have a Silvertone 6494 made in 1941. The label on the inside says Silvertone which is by Sears Roebuck & Company.
