OK, I just got the Schmidt kicked out of me, so I thought I'd share a recent purchase, this 1942 salesman book. Condition is excellent with all kinds of cool graphics and info. Sections include Grocery, Publications-Posters-Radio, Coolers (including Price List), Cartons, Advertising, and Miscellaneous. I am not sure if it's complete, there doesn't seem to be anything that applies to Advertising or Miscellaneous. I recognize a few of these signs, either ones I or others here own. Also while looking through it, I learned about a few new items I'd never seen before. If anyone knows what typically is in the "Advertising" section of these books, I will appreciate the info. Hope everybody's having a good weekend!

Nice book, I too got schmidt on.... I couldn't even bid. When I logged in, all i got was "pending approval". I was so mad, I sat and watched just about all of it too!!!

Be glad you couldn't bid. As I'm sure you noticed, It was beyond a frenzy. When that beanie went for $375 (that's $450 w/the premium) I knew it was out of control and/or Chinese new money was in play. I bought that same beanie, same condition, earlier this year for $25 on eBay. Maybe I'll start wearing it.

Haha, got "Schmidt-on",good one Dave! Never any deals when your throwin' it down with all the deep pockets!. Stick with your proven method buddy, being an E-bay sharp-shooter! Can't wait to see the pic of you 'n the beanie!~!

These are some of the best posts I've ever read on here! "got the scmidt kicked out of me", "got schmidt on". You probably battled Ray for this book Dave. Run and hide, RUN LIKE THE WIND! LOL, Great book though.

When golf tees go $800 smackers, it's just a bit too crazy for me too. I wasn't bidding but did watch alot of it. Almost bid on the porcelain black and white logo sign but it didn't stay cheap enough to be comfortable with it.

$13,795.00 That's what the items on my schmidt list went for, minus the 18% of course. I'm thinking some of those bidders have no use for Petretti's books, the last carrier is in the book for $400 and sold for $3700, I know it's for charity but we don't even know what charity yet, LOL.....

I didn't realize proceeds were going to charity. That may explain some of those high prices, I just couldn't figure out why bidders were going so high.

The book was a BIN listing, twotwentysmackers, so did not have to step on TGBWC's toes to acquire. Knocked him out of the way? Yes. Stepped on his toes? No. :) (And he's already had several of these, of course. We need to get that guy a laptop!)

Don't worry about TGBWC. He had a pretty big smile on his face when we left the auction on Saturday.

Well I'm glad he was able to find some things there. Also glad to hear that Dave didn't compete with him on this cause I know he wanted one.
