any idea of the age?
Good question....your guess is as good as mine....I don't think it matters much on age. It's just wasn't struck as a Nickel....Has same metal content though.....
If it's war time it could have more silver content...of course there is only one way to find out :P
I have some war silver nickels......Naw, it will stay like it is......
I have a few also..steel penny like yours too.
i dnt think they ever made silver nickels , have you ever heard the saying "it isnt worth a nickel" well this originates in the late 19th early 20th century because nickels were never made of a precious metal.....jus nickel
During WWII nickels were made of 56% copper, 35% silver and 9% manganese.
srry bout that i forgot about them 3 years
i just re read my info lol
I have a 1937 lincoln cent . the front was struck in the normal way. However the reverse is blank, There is no signs it was shaved. It is perfectly flat.
Sorry about the delay in my typing , My question is the rarity and value to it.
you get alot more if its graded- certified then id sell at auction!! see what it runs up to!!
Lovely Planchet.
