I have two copies of Chatelaine from May 1937, the other I packed immediately in a protective cover and put somewhere safe, to save for later. This one is in much rougher condition, mostly only the first and last few pages, the middle is still in good condition. The one I put away was in near mint condition. Perhaps my grandmother had the same idea, to have one to read and one to save. So fun to look through all the old advertisements, I was thinking of cutting out the cool ones and framing them, considering the magazine itself isn't too valuable, even as decor. The creative side of me loves finding 'ruined' antiques, to make into something pretty or useful.
You have a good eye, Luisa, and I know that you'll find some charming ads suitable for framing. Looks like you've found a good one to accompany the tomato fans! Have fun!
Thanks Mikko!! : )
My pleasure! Thanks for posting these interesting items!
