With my own background in fine arts, it's always fascinating to me to realize how few women artists are represented in the world's museums dating to earlier centuries. Does it mean women were not artistically inclined, or that they were unable to create works of art? No! Emphatically NO! It does mean that few outlets for the creative arts were open to women. For the most part, women were left with the needle arts, sewing and tapestry, embroidery and couture. So the sewing arts have particular interest to me both aesthetically and as a woman. The elegance of their 'tools' is incredible, as is the vast array of works they created with the needle as their primary tool. Take a look, start your own collection in support of women's art.
love it..
