Just an ordinary glass vase! Quite thin glass with this narrow neck and flared opening and approx 10" tall. It has a pattern which resembles the bark on a tree for want of a better description! Would just like to put a name or place to it! Many thanks! Here are two photographs of the bottom of this vase. I have had it under a strong light, breathed on it etc but cannot see anything other than what is in the photograph. Many thanks for your help GNO.
Not so ordinary, me thinks!...:-)
Thank you inky! We will see what might be suggested!! I have just been looking through your past posts -what an eclectic array of possessions! I am a bit similar, loved the bedspread. I also have blue insulators (2) and only 1 kralik vase, like yours but with bumps!! Will put it on sometime.
Thanks you miKKoChristmas!!
Yes!.. I am rather all over the place with what I collect, I get quite passionate with everything I find what ever it may be..:-) my budget only allows for the bargains, but! I have to admit even if I had pots of money it would be the same, much more exiting and then your new found treasure starts off with a new bit of history...:-).. I have a feeling that you have a treasure there too!...
Look forward to seeing some more of your 'stuff' too!...:-)
Well, if it is a treasure it will be a bonus as it was only 50 pence at a car boot sale. It was very dirty and I just get a kick out of cleaning and renewing a life that an object might once have had. I do like old textiles and I have lots of old linen, I have recently bought (bargain price like you!) three '1913' nurses' aprons, full length, in the most fantastic condition. Why? Will we ever understand why we do it?!
This looks like a job for TallCakes and his posse of glass gurus.
GSnowy Owl you are never stumped!
Personally I have no idea. Guessing Victorian? But that is my fall back answer : ))
Thanks AmberRose! I too think Victorian but need a more expert opinion. I also thought GSO would fly in and give me the answer as he seems to know such a lot!!
Will take a photo of the base of it and see if it helps identify it! Many thanks to all.
Really must go to bed now!
Amber.. I am stumped all the time. I just don't comment on things that I have zero clue on normally unless it happens to be a glass type that I am actively trying to learn better. :)
Greatsnowyowl, I have now posted two more photographs of the bottom of this vase, hope it helps! Many thanks for finding the time to help me!
Thank you vetraio50 for the Love it!
Thank you so much czechman, I actually thought it was a Victorian English glass vase!!! I have so much to learn! Any idea on date?
Thank you BELLIN68!
