Hmmmm, I should know this cola bottle, cause I was born & raised in Michigan. But I have no clue on this one. Mfg by Stempien Beverage Co. Dearborn, Mich. On the bottom is a square with a G inside, then 700, & then 53.... The 53 tells me it's a 1953 bottle, but the rest I have no clue! Was this clear soda or dark? Anyone know more?

I'm trying to find info on this as well. It reminds of the few "Stewart's" bottles I have.

Very Cool, Thats the first time I seen one. Maybe only sold in the northwestern states?

Yeah it might be a midwest thing. I know it was just root beer for like 60 years and theyve added all those flavors in teh last few decades.

I've got some old Point beer pull tab cans & some Billy beer ones somewhere in the top part of the garage.....have to check that out.....

Billy Beer! Cold Spring Brewery (the yellow crate in my collection) was one of the places that was brewed.

      Ahh, Land-O-Pop!
    9. VikingFan82 VikingFan82, 14 years ago
Still trying to find out what Land O' Pop is.

Wasn't Cold Spring Brewery in Wisconsin? Land O' Lakes butter, Land O' Pop reminds me of Indians.....Hmmmm....
    11. VikingFan82 VikingFan82, 14 years ago
That was one of my thoughts, that it was reused by the neighboring company but it's not likely. Cold Spring is a town in MN where the brewery is...Land O' Lakes the company is in Arden Hills, MN. There is a town Land O' Lakes in WI and in FL, both unrelated.

What would you like too know about this POP? My Uncle was the owner of this Company.

I just found an old wooden crate with the name "STEMPIAN BEVERAGE CO" on it. On the ends of the crate is stamped LA 6798 Detroit Mi. I tried "googling" Stempian Beverage Co. (thats how I found you) and it turned up an auction house that had one of these crates in 2007. They said that Stempien was a distribution co. for Masons Root Beer. Don't know if they had their own pop as well. I was born in Detroit and raised in Dearborn Hts. and I never heard of Stempien pop either.

Stempien Beverage Company closed up shop in the mid 80s. My grandfather owned the company and this is one of his bottles, although the plant I knew was located in Detroit. He bottled Mason's Root Beer, Dr Pepper and his own Whistle Stop Pop franchise. This brings back great memories!
