This appears to be a very old Reed & Barton silver plated ladle, but I could not find any similar pattern in Reed & Barton's archives. Does anyone know what it is?
Notice the little points where the bowl of the ladle meets the handle, and the small ridge near the end of the bowl. I cannot read the patent info on the back of the ladle. Please send along any info you have. Thanks.

Hi JoAnne1glass. It looks to be a pattern by Reed and Barton named Gem (1871). I have a few pieces of this pattern in my collection. I am basing my information from a book, SILVERPLATED FLATWARE by Tere Hagan. I love old Victorian silverplate. I have a huge collection of Crown by 1847 Rogers and quite a large set of Harvard II by Derby Silverplate. Here is a great website that shows many Victorian flatware patterns. http://queenofsienna.wordpress.com/2013/05/31/some-19th-century-flatware-patterns/

      Best of luck!
