I'm desperate, so I'm reposting this so it's at the top of the queue.
This box is cast aluminum. It has 3 sliding plates, within. In each place, there are 2 pieces of colored glass on the outside and the center tile is empty. The box is approx 6 lbs. It's just under 16" long, 5.5" wide, and 2.25" deep. There is a stamped "BS-9263" and the box is sealed with 4 tags, as pictured. The tags are the only thing that may help me identify the maker and/or purpose, but I can't find the symbol. I believe it's some sort of "color wheel" but I have no idea what it was used for, who made it, or when it was even made. I've asked "experts" and everyone is stumped. I need help. If you need more pics or want to converse, please email me at woodysrelics@gmail.com. Thanks.
Can you see through it, can it be lit from below.
Is there a place to insert something
Looks like the star of David & with the word "combination" & the associated letters I wonder if it is some kind of message decoder.
you can see through the glass and when all panels are pushed in, the center is hollow from front to back. It's not meant to be lit, from below, in fact it looks as if there are holes for it to be mounted to a wall or something else. I believe the panels are meant to be open, with the key being, the blended colors in the center square, not the colors on the outside.
