Hi, if anyone knows anything about this piece, please help me out! Thanks!
On the bottom it says:
"K (in a circle)
GERO
90 (in a circle)"
on the front it has the letters SZ overlapped. Take care!

Hi, I take a different reading of your 'GERO' mark. I am reading it as probably either "GLPD" or "GEPD". I'm also not 100% sure that your 'K' is a "K" - can't see well enough. Now, I am very ignorant about Pewter!!!, but I think that perhaps this could be pewter? Here's a good link to get you started. Best wishes for success! miKKo

Looks like very worn silver plate to me.
Probably a small creamer from a set.
I suspect that "Gero" is a maker mark.

Thanks scottvez...miko I double checked and it def says GERO with a K and a 90 in circles. Thanks for the help.
As per usual, scottvez is right on target - I missed the tarnish near the bottom edge, beneath the engraved, interlacing 'SZ'/'ZS' monogram. That would indicate silver, not pewter. Also very good hypothesis on creamer. BHock45, what are measurements for this item, please?

Gero -- Gerofabriek brand name.
90 -- a quality mark indicating that 90 grams of silver has been used to plate 12 spoons and 12 forks.

Hi, BHock45. I'm out of my orbit with Dutch hallmarks, I'm afraid. I'm wondering if it could possibly be a date hallmark used on Dutch silverplate? Sorry, I know nothing about Dutch silver or silverplate. : )

Gerofabriek founded in 1909 as A.S. Gerritsin and became Gerofabriek afeter 1025. They are in Zeist in the Netherlands. Designers for them include Jan Eisenloeffel, Georg Nilsson & Chris Van der Hoef, Dick Simonis and Floris Meydam.
Super, Vetraio! So, what do you think that the "K" signifies? I saw on http://www.925-1000.com earlier today that "K" can be a date stamp, but I wasn't comfortable suggesting it here, as the 925 context was for Dutch sterling, I think. Would there be a designer's hallmark, too? Thanks!

My problem is whether they used the date letter system used for silver.
Sometimes you get a designer's monogram in this space and at others it is a date mark.

The letters with a circle around it indicate the year of production.
There are several articles in Gero designed by famous designers. The sign is also in the specifications, eg Georg Nilsson (CN), Theodorus Hooft (TH), Chris van der Hoof (CJH), Jan Eisenloeffel (JE in circle), Rinze Hamstra (RH) and Andries Copier (button in a C ).

Hi BHock45. I have a silver plate coffee pot from the same manufacturer and style as your creamer. It also has the ZS logo on the front. Did you ever discover to whom the logo belongs?
