I have had this necklace for 15 years or so. I got it as a little girl from my preschool lunch lady who loved me. She was in her 70s then. I know nothing about it except that she said she loved it. I loved it too as a little girl and felt so grown up when I would wear it to school. My mother wouldn't let me wear it very much though. She said she thought it was old. It's been sitting in my jewelry box since. Any info would be nice.
What a nice necklace to receive as a kid! If you dont wear it you should Im sure your lunch lady would want you too. It is hard to tell if its a highend piece by the photos but depending on how old it is you could have a real find on your hands. If you have a mirror you dont care about and you think it may be real diamonds try to scratch the mirror with the stones, be careful though if the stones are glass you could damage them. I would take it to a jeweler to have tested if you think that its real. If its costume market value $15-$25. Personal value priceless. Hope this helps and happy hunting!
I just tried scratching a glass jar, and it didn't do anything to the jar or the big stone. Does that mean anything? I put all my weight behind it too... LOL
Really!!!! You should take it to a jeweler for sure. I hope it turns out to be the real deal.
my fingers are crossed for you!!! that would be something if it was real!! good luck!
I don't think it is, but you never know. I've decided to take it to a jeweler to see what it is. Thanks for the advice. I'm very curious now after having the thing for 18 years. I'll update once I know something.
Went to a jeweler. He said it was foil-back glass. That's all I found out... lol
Bummer! Did the jeweler test it or just look at it? Thats some strong foiled glass to not have been damaged when you scratched on the jar. Well at least now you can wear it with out worry. In fact I think if you have any plans tonight why not start the new year right by dressing to the nine and wearing your finest! Happy New Year! Lets all hope this one brings us those things we want most happy hunting!
He just looked at it.
