This trunk has been in our family for over 75 years and we would like to find out its value. The upper insert is in two pieces but we have the sides and bottom. We are afraid to try and repair it for fear we would damage it beyond repair or restoration.

Here are a few sites I found helpful when doing my 'trunk research'...

I have a trunk just like that which I took my stuff to college in (1953). I don't know where my mother bought it, but was new when I used it. Yours looks like metal, however, mine is thin wood, with metal strappings and hardware. Mine most likely came from Sears.

Your trunk is quite "new" as trunks go. Unfortunately, you would be lucky to get $50.00 for it. Sorry, but people want the older trunks.

There were lots of companies that kept making this type trunk through the 1930's to 1950's such as Seward in VA. And other companies made them for Sears, Montgomery Ward, etc. But like Jim said, most people look for the older mostly wood trunks.
