I believe these may be part of a Native American ceremonial bear costume. They appear very old and much used, as the wood is worn on two of the "claws". The carved Motif is a circle within a circle with a dot in the middle. Any information would be much appreciated.
Very nice! Hope we find out more.
this is a real treasure! fantastic - wonderful! what a simple concept for a very effective costume. even the sound they make when wearing them must be great. anyone who has had a close bear encounter will tell you that the claws are the most memorable feature. i had a very close encounter w/ an enormous black bear last summer and that's what i remember! [i woke up w/ a black bear standing 7 ft over me - less than two feet from my lower leg]
