I just bought two of these side chairs. I thnk they are midcentury Danish. The seat is not original and appears to not be proportionate to the chair. Note thet the rear legs pierce through the back splat. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Hi JimB:
I just looked through a really good book I have called Danish Chairs, by Noritsugu Oda. I could not find an example of a chair with a molded plywood back like that, or even one that has the legs pierce through the top. But there's an interview with a Danish Modern expert named Andrew Hollingsworth here:

His site is listed at the beginning of the interview. Perhaps he can shed some light.
Do you have any other finds you'd care to share? This one is pretty great.
Thanks!
This is almost definitely not a Danish chair. It's an interesting piece, but I'd be willing to bet it's American 1960s and not designed by anyone particularly special.
