This Vintage Die Cast Toy Car was my Great Grandfather’s, so I know it is very old.
4 inches long
The car consists of 5 pieces. - 2 body pieces & 1 fender pieces that interlock & are held together by a bolt thru the doors & a spring/wire underneath, & 2 axles w/ tires.
Stamped on the underside:
"T 87-3 12"
"Patent Applied for 1”
It sticks to a magnet, so I figure it is "steel" - "iron" die cast. ? (I don't know much about metals.)
I would like to know the following:
Manufacturer?
Age, Year Made?
Make & Model of car?
Any other information would be appreciated.
Thank you
I believe that your Grandfather's die cast toy car was made by Kenton in the early 1930's and it a representation of a Pierce Arrow. I was able to find a convertible model online and if you would care to view it just follow the link below. As you will see it has the same headlights, spring loaded attachment and wheels (although yours has had the front wheels replaced at some time).

I hope this is helpful. A very nice toy and a great rememberance of your Grandad.
Thank you fourpeepsake.
I appreciate you taking the time to provide this info. on my car.
Hopefully, some day I can repay the favor.
I think the above link is incorrect. the car they are showing is a Kilgore toy not a Kenton.
Your car is Cast Iron, not diecast. I am pretty sure it was made by Kilgore. I should also add there is a small piece broke out below the grill. That will hurt the value some.
The car is a keeper for sure. Replacement front wheels may be available.
