As most of you know, I had a looonnnggg conversation with my hubby about my hoarder-like tendencies. The conclusion of the conversation was my entre into the Randolph Street Market. I have not done this for a long time but it felt right. It felt easy.
I told Hunter of CW that I would have a booth and he sent me some CW swag to hand out. I put a button and card in every single bag!
I had some very nice neighbors that weren't competitive with my treasures and I actually avoided buying anything. (SHOCK!!)
I won a blue ribbon for my aluminum apple so when it sold, the market matched the money to a library. I also got a couple of photos in a very popular Chicago blog called Thiftaholic. (apple and viking boat)
This is my booth. Sorry about the lack of detail, the light was a little crazy.
See next post for what I learned....
Don't suppose it took long to collect that lot!!..:-)..hope you did well, it looked like a lot of work to set up.... and what a lovely backdrop!...:-)
Thanks Inky, Sean and Kerry!
Actually this is about a 15 month amount of hunter gathering. This doesn't count the treasure I kept! It was hard to let some bits go but I feel better.
It sure was a big stand!!!!
Congratulations, AmberRose! I'm sure that your 'stand' was very popular! : )
My hubby actually bought the apple for sugar next to the coffee maker in our kitchen. It just wasn't working so we decided to move it to a new home. I still loved it though. It was HUGE.
Thank you everyone for the loves!
Yes I sold the table to another dealer. NOT doing furniture anymore takes up too much space. I wish the table fit better into the look of my home, because it was totally bad ass.
looks fab, so glad you found a new home for that wild table! :0)
Sweet! We're going to have to start doing that too. We finally got most of the work done in the house, so we'll have some more time. Plus my knee recuperation is done. Happy New year Amber!
Love the pebble topped table!! Yes, looks like you and I are two of a kind!! The loft in my house is scary - could all come through the ceiling at any moment! I open boxes I have not seen for a while and think 'where did I get that', or don't remember this!!' - all good fun and I love going to car boots and auctions! I go to an auction most Friday evenings, no catalogue, no internet, so you can come upon some good things that nobody else has noticed... Love It!!
Amber, I should start handing them out... Here's your vintage ice cream and button LoL I love those green glasses in the 3rd photo. I have an idea, since you won't let me pay for the Pyrex or shipping and since I don't have old enough Christmas items. How about I paint something for you? Maybe something to match your Chrismtas decorations? Just an idea.
Aim, wow, forgot I posted these. My booth is so much more...I don't know...professional? Warmer? Nicer? That this first one was. I looked closely at my tables here and literally have none of these items left. Wow.
I hit a couple of thrifts yesterday. Lots of Pyrex. I got a little crossed eyed. I need specific direction or you are just going to get random pieces. A hit list if you will.
Yes! I didn't know you painted!
LoL girl you are hysterical. I wish we lived close. I would be in stitches shopping with you! I wish our thrifts sold Pyrex like yours do. Our thrift stores cost more than Kmart and Walmart, it's silly.
I draw more than I paint. LoL if you want something painted email reference photos and I'll get started :-)
And you start another season at Randolph today :)
VERY COOL!!!
