From what I can find out this is a Vietnam Era Naval Officers cap. This was produced by the Bancroft Co. It's labeled a size 6 3/4 on leather inside ring. Says Pak Cap Trademark and has pat no. 2,844,824. In overall nice shape I don't know much on them hoping to learn more please share info. Thanks. Also listing another that I need help to.I.D.

Patent No. checks out to an issue of 1958:

      Vietnam era makes sense.

I suspect that the adornment on the visor means it is for a field grade. The US Army does this for Majors and above-- I am not certain if the Navy follows the same protocol.

What makes this Coast Guard? Sure looks like USN insignia on it--thought the CG had a different insignia.
