A picker brought this to me yesterday. I don't know anything about this type of Japanese ceramics, so would appreciate any information i can get. I believe that it's from the art nouveau period around 1900-1915, but i don't really know anything else.
Sorry Ho2, I can't tell. Could be 100 years or 100 days old. Hopefully someone will point you in the right direction. I like it quite a bit. The color is what is throwing me off. Hope you are doing well.
I've had a quick look here but no luck so far. Kutani out-sourced ?

Gorgeous vase, ho2cultcha! I too had a quick look, and failed to find this mark. Much enjoyed Vetraio's superb link.
thanks everyone. i did a search on it last night and think i found it on the first try. i think it's Mitsui, but no dates or other info.
sometime between 1913 and 1921 - Igeta transitional, i think. [whatever that means]
Hi, ho2cultcha! Yes, it does look like a mark Mitsui used. However, I am grossly ignorant of oriental porcelain, so I don't know if anyone else used this same mark. I found this link this morning, but I liked Vetraio's better so I didn't post it. You have to wait a while for the hallmark photos to load before you look....Wonderful vase!!!

thank you mikkochristmas11. that's where i found it the second time. i wish i could find the link where i first saw it, but it's disappeared... i'm very ignorant about asian ceramics as well, but eager to learn more. have a great weekend!
this vase is 10" tall x 9" wide x 4.5" deep. i found some similar two-handled ones online, but they were all quite a bit smaller.
Thank you, sir! Hope your weekend is great, too! : )
