This is a vase gesigned by the Dutch architect Karel de Bazel for Glasfabriek Leerdam.
A beautiful cut green vase from around 1917.
I've put in a regular vase too.
De Bazel was one of the first to design modern glass there.
Het died too early in 1925.
Love love the deep green and the cut panel shape.... sorry not sure of technical name!....:-)
I love it too.
The flat ones are nice too, but this really rings my bell.
Hi bazelmania! What a phenomenal collection.
Can you indicate when these were designed?
Thank you. That is 1917-1918.
Can I suggest you add a date to the title of each item?
The green against the green..gorgeous!..great view!...:-)
Thanks. I will do that vetraio.
Thans Inky, a lot of collectors don't like the ''bottle''green. I do, it's a strong color.
Yes!..I love it too.. funny isn't it and I don't know why.. it's as you say "a strong colour" and always stands out in a crowd, but maybe that's good more for us!..;-)
You're absolutely right. Green is not just for holding wine :)
lol!.. I shall never look at my bottle of wine in the same light! I shall enjoy it much more as well as the contents!...:-)
And I hope you'll never drink the flowerwater....
lol...I'm a cheap drunk and after two glasses of wine it's! quite possible I would, but if anything like your green vase I'm sure I wouldn't notice, would be too distracted....hic!....;-)
And the cut surface would probably make you see double anyway ??!!
What cut surface???!!!...;-)
hahaha, the alcohol evened it out? It makes every surface smooth I guess. Takes off sharp all edges.
Love the colour of these, wow!
Thanks walksoftly. Many collectors didn't like the colour. They went for blue and purple. That was my luck. Today that's all different.
Lucky you!
All colours are difficult to find/buy. Well I'm glad (and lucky I guess) that I have these. Especially the one in pic 1. That's the most beautiful one. I have the same one in blue, purple, clear and grey. This is my favorite by far.
