      The blue and red red symbol in the center is Korean. I saw all kinds of gifts and furniture exactly like this when I was stationed there in the early 80's. It's a very nice box.

      Thank you. I think the birds are birds of paradise. They are all mother of pearl. I think. really want to know as much as possible or find a place to get a appraisal on it.

      It's lacquered wood with abalone shell and mother of pearl inlays, inserts are sometimes wood and sometimes plastic. My guess it's from the 1970s or 80s.

      Way to determine the value. I got it at a auction and would like to sell but can't find anything to compare it too. Thanks for everyone's help.

      Well I ended up putting it on eBay it is a korean mother of pearl serving tray
