I purchased this art glass bowl from an antique dealer about 30 years ago who claimed it was unsigned Steuben. It's a lovely bowl, approx. 9" diameter X 5" tall. It reminds me of a peacock with it's blue, purple, green iridescent spotted color. The base also has iridescence, but isn't of the same coloration, it is more golden/pink. Has a polished pontil. No marks. I had an online appraisal done about 20 years ago hoping the person would shed some light on if this truly is Steuben or another quality art glass maker of the time, but they did not. From what I can tell, they did not research whatsoever, but just assumed it was indeed unsigned Steuben because that's what I was told. I am hopeful that someone might know what this is or give me advice and point me in the right direction for my research all these years has yielded nothing. Thank you!
I can't help, but I am sure some of the others will be able to! Beautiful colours!!
It's almost absolutely certainly NOT steuben. I can't see the pontil very well but from what I can see it doesn't look polished. It looks like it's from a breakaway punty.
From what I can see it looks like it was probably new when you bought it 30 years ago being sold as old. It's gorgeous but I'd bet money on it being a contemporary piece.
Not Steuben.
