I bought this set of 12 trays and cups at a yardsale. I just thought that they were beautiful. I didn't know anything about imperial candlewick glass at first but now after doing research I am learning more and more. The lady who sold them to me said that her grandmother loved serving company out of these when entertaining. I have never seen anything like them.
Hi Tonyao: I'm more familiar with the Candlewick pieces that have the "beads" around the rim, but obviously that wouldn't make a lot of sense in a small mug or cup like those shown here! These are great. Do you collect other types of Depression glass?

I just found 20 of the trays, but looking for the matching glasses. Like you, I didn't know much about them. I'm not sure they're Candlewich pieces or Hazel Atlas from the Orchard Crystal line. Wondering how I can tell the difference. I remember these in my mother-in-laws china cabinet also. I can't wait to use them this holiday season... if I can find the cups.
I have a set of 4 of the small 5 1/2 x 5 3/4 Hazel Atlas Orchard Crystal sip and smoke snack set. Does anyone know the value of these sets. I understand the size makes them rather rare.

Your trays and cups are not Imperial Candlewick....looking at a real piece of candlewick compared to them would show you the difference. The set you have is made by Orchard Crystal, and obviously they are unique and beautiful in their own way. If you are thinking about collecting more pieces of Candlewick, a good website to research fakes or similarities is http://candlewicklookalikes.com/. I have Candlewick: The Crystal Line by Myrna and Bob Garrison and it is a great book for someone who is wanting to collect Candlewick. Being an avid collector of Candlewick, I'm always looking out for imposters...there are alot of fakes out there and you definately want to make sure you spend your money on the real thing.
