This is not a pick per se, but I did pick it from the plethora of antiques my family has collected over the years. It's not for sale, but would like to know whether is has a high monetary retail value, and whether or not it's gold or brass. It is an Illinois Bunn Special, 21 jewel pocket watch. I believe it's from 1921 based on serial number 3845304, and it says "adjusted temp. and 6 six positions" on the inside of the watch. The backing of the case says, "Philidelphia Watch Case Co." and "twenty years" directly below that. The serial number on the case is 9169566, and it is hand engraved on the left with 348H, 55357 on the top, and 51-4-63K on the right. I used a high powered magnet on the case backing, and it's not magnetic. So I figured it's either pure brass, or gold. Anything, anyone could tell me about my Great Grandfather's watch would be great. Thank you so much!!
many of the cases on the bunn specials were gold rolled or gold filled. Meaning brass on the inside with a layer of gold on top the case is in good condition if no brass is showing through the typical wear areas...one with the exact case, movement and dial is selling on ebay for 500 dollars...

High grade Railroad watch, Montgomery dial, don't see any cracks around the "6." 99.5 % sure it is gold filled case, 16 size standard RR watch. Quite nice indeed!
I have a illinois Pennsylvania special 24 jewelled railroad pocket watch. I am having it serviced. It is not in the original case. The date is 1901-1902. Does anyone know if this watch is rare.
