Hello All - I am hoping that there is someone on here who will instantly recognise this Vase, due to its unusual shape and its colour. It was originally fired in Orange and then it has had a black glaze placed over it on the bottom half.
It stands 15 inches high and is 12 inches wide at the widest point - it has plenty of age to it too as I can remember it being up on display in our living room when I was much much younger.
The paint also has all the signs of ageing - as it has small hairline eggshell type cracks on the paintwork, this is not damage but just something that happens to ceramics the older they get!
This was a wedding gift to my Mother & Father when they got married in the late 50's and was given by my Uncle Thorsby, whom just so happened to be a very wealthy man who was a well known property developer in and around Notting Hill and Kensington, this could of come from one of the many houses he has bought and cleared out as he was forever bringing quality items home, seems funny that he decided to keep this one. I am in my 40s and I always remember it, for its style and shape fascinated me, as well as the bold orange and black colours.
The vase has no markings on it anywhere, I have even had my magnifying glass to it (which is how I spotted the eggshell cracks in the paintwork)
Please if anyone can help me identify this stunning and very unusual vase I would be very grateful, I know nothing about it at all and am doing a bit of de cluttering and I am sending a lot of stuff to the charity shop - should I send this or should I hold on to it. I don't use it (for flowers anyway) but I do have it on display, for I still 40 odd years on still find it very sensual to look at, the lines and curves but mostly the colours of Orange & Black.
Surely someone must recognise such a distinctive piece of Art Pottery, purely by its style and shape - I know absolutely nothing of Pottery but I do use this site for watches, so thought I would try and see if anyone can assist me with this.

Looks like a mold piece, like someone bought a blank base and painted it in a ceramics class
The paint on the orange is eggshell cracked, like old pottery does but the black glaze is thick and has no eggshell cracks.
If it has been made from a mould, what kind of date would one put on it!
Yes its called "crazing," it results from improper firing as well as age, so its not really a sure sign of age
They've been making ceramic moulds forever, hard to really date it. Maybe 1970's or 80's
So should I just throw it on the Skip or eBay it?
In the manner of Bertoncello (Don't think it actually is tho).
Not a ceramic class piece, but would have been fairly mass produced, it is molded.
