I recently came into possession of this clock. Family lore has it that my wife’s gg-grandfather was the original owner and he lugged it from Virginia to Texas when he migrated in the early 1870’s. I had it cleaned and tuned-up and it works just fine. It measures 25H x 15W x 4D. If anyone can help with any info concerning this clock, I’d be appreciative.
    Thanks, John

It's what is commonly called an Ogee clock... Referring to the style of molding around case front. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogee Also: http://cawcg.org/ogeepresentation.pdf

What a beautifully maintained example of this kind of clock! Just to add to what Nathan has already shared with you,
look up: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/clocks/new-haven on this board for a very good history on the Jerome/New Haven Clock Co. You may have a very early example of a New Haven clock since the label is still clearly trading on the Jerome Clock Company name recognition as the "Successor". This just might be a Civil War era clock! I would guess anywhere between 1860-1870 based upon your provenance information.

Nathan, Bruce, thank you for your insight. It has given credence to the family story concerning the history of this clock in addition to defining the clock itself. I’ll do my part to insure it stays in the family for another 150 years. Gentlemen, thank you again. John.
