First of all I don't think this Bow is Indian. But it looks hand made to me. This Bow was my Moms. My Dad bought this for her around 1941 or 1942. Don't know if he had it made or bought it from someone. But the Bow is hand painted & finished with the 1 arrow that was left, also hand painted too match. The arrowhead is made of seel & has a pattent No#2373216. The feathers are synthetic & has a plastic tip on the head.
I have never showed this Bow & arrow before now. Almost forgot where I put it in the house. Sheeesh I hate gettin old!!! I'm going to have this valued & Appraised, but I thought I'd show y'all first....Thanks for lookin!
Oo, BTW the Bow is 58" long, (with no string) & the arrow is 28 1/2" long.....
The arrow is from Zwickey Archery circa 1945, more than likely the bow was bought from them also. All long bows in that period were hand made. I think Zwickey is still in business, they may be able to tell you who made bows for them at that time. When you call, ask if they have a historian, many companies do.
Yeah, that's a 1945 patent.
U nailed it Dave, now I remember my Dad talking about Zwickey. Had to be 1945. Was just lookin through some stuff & found a V-mail dated 1945 when he got out of the Army.... U are too cool Dave.... Thanks Bro....
I have one just like it with 12 arrows and a back quiver. did u find ouy if it was worth anything. on the bow mine says, 45 68" 32 28" . those numbers are stamped on the bow.
