1941-1947. This Monet necklace has no copyright symbol so pre 1955, does not utilise the 1947 clasp design. Matching earrings - named Doorknocker - are seen in a 1941 advert in 'Monet the Master Jewelers' by Alice Vega. Also bears striking similarities to patent 129,522 from 1941.
This is a lovely quality necklace: the front is like new due to the Monet triple plating, the back of the design is as neat and well finished as the front. Many link pieces from the earlier decades have flat or shaped backs which make them very comfortable to wear - later ones are cast and hollow.
The fur clip is unsigned so cannot be Monet but a good match!
