'Ruffeleer' from 1953: signed MONET and a lengthy three and a half inches! The brooch is a book piece in 'Monet the Master Jewelers' by Alice Vega and the necklace and bracelet can be seen on her blog and Facebook page. Three pieces featured in a 1953 magazine advertisement in Harper's Bazaar.
The second image is the 1953 catalogue page which boasts "an ornate and beautiful design inspired by the curve of a silken ruff of Elizabethan times, redesigned for the world of today ... Infinite skill and patience, combined with perfect artistry in the Golden Manner of Monet, make this masterpiece possible." Would have cost $7.50 which is equivalent to $65 today [Coin News Inflation Calculator]!
I love the curves of the stylised ruffles against the poker straight stem: another elegant and timeless design from Monet.
