A buddy of mine forced me to buy this for a wall hanger. He kept dropping the price and adding items to boot, so I finally gave in. I didn't know anywhere else to post this. Does anybody know anything about this motor? It doesn't have the top and there seems to be no numbers or markings of any kind. Any information would be appreciated.

I wish someone could identify this motor for me. Was it customary to not mark these somewhere? I'd like to be able to find a hood for it.

I'd like to try and help you out. I have a old Sears motor that likes a bit like yours. If you would, post more info on it. Few few close up photo's, overall lenght. The hp if you know.
I'll do my best to help you out.

HandymanTom, thanks for the offer. I've been away and just saw your post. With no markings of any sort, I have no idea the hp or any other info. I'll measure it and try to get more close ups.

HandymanTom is probably on to some thing there. Sears, Monkee Wards and several others sold similar items in the 1950's -60's, most where my by Evinrude, might check for cast #'s in the lower unit and then check mfg site. Might help.
