Just got this clock back in Aug, 2012 after my parents had it cleaned up and sent to me after they had moved. My grandparents had given it to me in 1985 I believe. On the bottom side (L) side facing clock- Lador Switzerland is written on bottom of sticker^ just above on same sticker EDELWEISS 2866 is written above LADOR Switzerland. However on the inside of the clock through an original access panel i can see a burned in stamp West Germany. My grandparents traveled a lot all over Europe, unfortunetly my grandmother passed this summer before I had the chance to remember where exactly it came from. 4 total were brought back. 1 for them and one for each eldest grandchild @ the time.. I was wondering if someone might be able to answer a question or two for me. (A) which is the correct way to set the time when returning from a trip and clock has stopped? & (B) my clock has been working great until a few days ago- like I said it was recently oiled up and set to working condition just in July- anyhow I noticed the cuckoo go off and the time said 8:30 but the big hand was loose at pointing at 8:30. I told everyone not to mess with time if it stops or slows. I feel like the screw on the hands I need to tighten. Does anyone ever have this problem? See the picture of scratch mark / new hole with wrong color wood nailed into my clock & destroyed by so called clock specialist! I'm still wondering why this whole was cut right next to an original where there is also an original hole on opposite side as well as a large original opening on the rear or clock.
Beautiful clock! I hope it keeps going for you.
