Ok guys and gals,
Here is a fine bohemian iridised 'thingy'. Almost certainly Poschinger, just possibly Kralik, definitely c1900-1910. Cold cut top, no pontil.
Just one problem, why did someone make it this wonderful and odd shape?
I saw it in field, not far from Paris, and had to have it. Just too weird.
Suggestions please.....
weird, maybe they put a votive candle on the ledge adn flowers on the inside?
I have seen at least 2 of these online, in the Helios decor (pale yellow, golden-orange spots at the bottom). Mine are likely by Poschinger http://46798ddf-a-62cb3a1a-s-sites.googlegroups.com/site/loetzglass/otherunidentified/2posch.jpg
wow that's freaky :D I think it's just a part of something bigger
I have seen one of these with a little metal bird perched on the "shelf", as if perching on a tree trunk.
Hi I have seen one with a bronze figure on the shelf .. an maiden??/ (a pair I think will try to find the image if I can...
Where is this field ??? ....what great crops they have growing there!!
I just wonder if it may have been used as night light? it would wonderful with a light shinning through it!.. I love it!...:-)
It sure looks like something is missing. A shelf support, maybe, or part of an interlocking centerpiece set? Just grasping...
I found the bird again! Have a look at item 110871215270 on German eBay.
Well done LLL I think you've solved it! -gold star!
Why, thank you - I aim to please.
It is also something of a miracle to get something right for once!! Hurrah!
wow, that's very cool. I've never seen anything like that before.
