A lovely Vaseline opalescent vase in stand. The entire opalescant pattern in the glass is outlined in gold. A "waist" has been ground into the glass so it rests perfectly on the brass base. The shape of the glass reminds me very much of an electric lamp shade.....never seen one fitted like this into a vase....hope you all enjoy!!

      Hi Sparky
For me it's a Northwood lamp shade in vaseline glass .
Someone turning it over with gold edges of the flowers on the outside. are 99% sure it's a Gorgeus glass Shade chandelier.

The two circle are different to all the other part in metal so it possible someone put it together .
This is my personal oppinion . Thanks .

I agree that this was a lampshade.......sold to some after-market company at the turn of the century, that then did the grinding and the fitting of the metal collar, handles and the footed stand.....not something done recently.....who would have the nerve to risk breaking a lovely shade just to make a vase from it today..lol

Thank you for sharing this. What a delightful piece. My built in bias says shade too but it is a wonderful vase now.

I have never seen one like this before, stunning. I think it was made and sold to a refiner who added the metal stand. intentional in my opinion (as a vase)

This is a Harrach vase with the "Blumenfloret" decor as documented in "...300 years Harrach Glass ..." at page 307 fig: 362
