Hi, it would be best if you could also take a photo of hallmarks on back. too. : )
Hi miKKo,
Manny, miKKo is most correct. Looking silver and being silver would be best determined by marks somewhere on the tray.
I'd also add that you appear to be a strong man. Looking at the size comparison of your arm to tray, I'd be set to see this as a cigar tray due to size of the "setting / holding" sections on the tray.
With good luck,
Steve

the silver stamp is kinda rubbed down, but the magnett test always works too.
im just interested to know where it,s from and how old it is.
Hi, stevedeal001 and mannyinarcata! You're right, Steve - this is huge, and the receiving wells would be suitable for cigars. I can't discern the hallmark at all, so I don't think that I can find this ashtray. Sorry, mannyinarcata. However, someone might recognize it. Let's hope someone does. : ) Best wishes, miKKo
well i finally found out what it is.
DUTCH SILVER ASHTRAY, MID 20TH CENTURY, DIA 6 1/4":Round shape with a foliate-pierced rim flanking figural vignettes, repousse genre scene at the well, hallmarks include lion passant with numeral 2 (indicating .833 fineness), Minerva head, date letter O for 1949, another illegible mark, and engraved "Declercq" at the underside. Weighing approximately 5.58 troy oz.
