Anyone ever seen this form in early Zuni work before?? Its totally unique to me, never seen anything like them

They're VERY heavy, 15 grams, I think the cones are solid and the bases have like 1/8" thick walls. 15 grams is very, very heavy!

Great earrings. Question: Are you sure they are Zuni? The design looks more like Navajo work to me. Although I'm not an expert :)

To be honest, they are so unlike anything I've ever seen that Zuni is just an educated guess

I made that guess because flush channel-inlay was first used at Zuni in New Mexico in the 1940's and it took a while to catch on in Arizona with the Navajo, and even today its still pretty much a Zuni technique.

Also the stones are set with aluminum paste, and thats generally a dead-giveaway for Zuni at this time period, the Navajo used prong and bezel setting.

Another thing, this type of generic sterling screwbacks I have noticed on other Zuni work from around that time, like the exact same ones that say "STERLING" on the screws.

Still, they're very weird, very unusual for Zuni. Not that its impossible though
