The fork is 6 inches in length which makes me think it is a pickle fork or a seafood fork? The markings on the front:
"G" I assume for Gorham
On the back from left to right:
"GORHAM EP PAT 1912 S"
"BANQUET PLATE"
"THE BOWMEN HOTELS 1934"
So my questions would be...is the fork from 1912 or 1934? If it was 1912 it would have turned 100 this year. Does Gorham silver plate have any value or is it collectible? Just curious, thanks everyone.
Hi! The date is 1934. If the plating is not worn through, it will have some value. Gorham and a named Bowman Hotels are desirable. Just how much, I cannot say. I don't think it will pay for your annual vacation, but it's so nice to have. Yes, looks like a cocktail fork/appetizer seafood fork to me.
LOL..Great, thanks mikkochristmas.
