The very heavy marble is removable. Trying to find out what this is exactly. Could be 100 years old according to our 96 yr old relative.

I have a dresser with white marble top. It has leaf carving on the drawers (3 drawer) and a framed mirror with elaborate flower and leaf carving around it. It has a shelf on either side of the mirror to hold candles or vases. It came out of Alabama before 1900. The carving on my dresser is similar to yours but more elaborate. I would like to find the origin of it. My grandmother said it was "a hundred years old" when her mother got it. A figure of speech I am sure.
