Wondering if there is any value to this item ?
Silver is not in good shape
Well is it silver or not? Does it say STERLING anywhere? Is there a lion passant? Usually seeing numbers like that means silver-plate. If its not sterling, theres no real value. The market for silver-plate is DEAD unless its fabulous and rare. Being tarnished doesn't mean its solid sterling, remember, there IS a layer of sterling on silver plate, so naturally it would tarnish.
Hallmark is squashed triangle with CEM initials oak leaves in corners ,am wondering about its history more than value ,marked MADE IN CANADA
Hello there,
Well better late than never. I have two trays like this and just found out they are made by Benedict & Proctor of Trenton, Ontario Canada. Mine have been determined to be Silver on Pewter. Are yours very easily bendable.
Hope this helps. Regards, Kirk
