Hello, this beer sign was found in the basement of a home in which we were doing some work, the only history we have on it , is that is was brought to Butler , ohio in 1961 from cincinnati, ohio by the family grandparents. I was extremely excited when i put a new light bulb in it and it lit up and still worked. Unsure, of the true history of the sign but would like some help in retrieving its history and possible current value, it is good condition, with a little rust on the back of the lighted beer sign.

Thats a great idea, putting a fluorescent bulb in there.I've seen many of these signs ruined by a bartender sticking a 100 watt bulb in them after the 20 watt burned out.It will fry the paint, and in some instances, melt the plastic even.

Red Top was in business from 1945 to 58,I believe. You could use some Armor All sprayed on a paper towel to make the plastic bottlecap shine.Clean the inside too,I'm sure theres decades of dust in there.

These sell for 150-250 or so in nice shape. What a great find!
