Unfortuantley....7 collector cars that I owned along with a vast amount of collectibles, 2 Motorcycles, 2 travel trailers from the 60's all the tools I owned all burned in a garage fire on June 8, 2012. The fire absoulutly destroyed everything...the heat was so intense it did over $20,000 in damages to my house over 75 feet away. 1 of 2 things started the fire, either 1 of the motorcycles shorted out, or a battery tender hooked to the motorcycle shorted out. The fire marshal could narrow it down to the starting point but not the exact ignition.

Such a sad sight, again, sorry for you loss. Something I've seen too many times, but rarely with so many things of such sentimental value, and irreplaceable also.

Thank you pickerknows...you do understand again I say thank you. So many people say....it was just stuff, you can replace....but I can't. I would walk into that garage and see a piece of chrome that still had my dads fingerprint on it....and just sit and Gaze at it......just knowing that some of these cars would carry his legacy on to my kids and to their kids...not anymore. My dad past away 5/26/2011....I've "wished" him back a million times....but not once since this fire, would not want him to have to go through what I have..............

Most welcome youngblood, thank goodness your house was spared major damage.
People & cherished things can live for ever, as long as there is someone to remember them, your collection still lives on in your memories & all of those who had the chance to view it & admire it.

      Kind regards

And I'll bet the insurance only wanted to give you enough for a wax job on the vehicles.

@ blunderbuss...well my insurance companies were very fair. They did all they could and hated to see such a loss...

Thanks for your kind words tommy1002, offialfuel, & davescoolstuff, I did Keep the 1933 plymouth & the 1949 Lincoln. but both are so far gone I just cannot see what I can do to bring either of them back to life...the metal has no temper left the panels are so wavy and the rafters fell on top of them just didnt leave me much to work with. Thanks again, Chris

Sorry for your loss, I have a friend that had a Tornado come through his property and just destroyed his garage lots of things he and his dad collected lost. Insurance paid for everything because he took pictures of it all. My heart goes out to you from one collector to another.
