I found more of my Kokeshi dolls, this time in bookend form. I did find some of these exact dolls online, so I am guessing this is a common group.
Bonus baby find at a garage sale for a quarter! He is safe and sound with the whole family!
These are quite big so not sure where they are going to go...hubby gave me that look when I started making room. ie moving his stuff...
Pretty neat Kokeshi's, thanks for sharing!! :-)
Thank you lovely Kerry! How are you doing?
Not real bad, but sorta upset, got home today and my old cat was killed by a wandering dog, Haven't found the owner of the dog yet, but I have the dog on a chain waiting for the owner to appear. They might not be happy with me either.
Oh NO! Poor kitty! Is the dog a meany? Maybe the owner doesn't feed it
The dog has a problem, not being feed was not it's problem, It tried to bite me as It was trying to get all the other dogs and younger cat around here, the old cat just wasn't fast enough to get away. It was on a killing mode and didn't think twice about my size, but a quick boot to the head slowed it down, then I chained it to a tree.
Holy Smokes! Surprised the shotgun hasn't come out already..
The thought was there, but waiting to talk to the owners. If they no-show or the dog tries anything else, I will have to destroy the dog. Hate saying that, beings I'm an animal lover, but the dog has an attitude towards everybody and everything. I blame the owners, dogs normally only do what they've been taught.
Absolutely!
Pony up a trade cha cha!
Kisses!!!
So "making room" means removing HIS stuff... LOL I love the koeshi baby! :)
Well, appaently Kokeshi dolls are huge right now, you can see new ones in novelty shops and so on, but the old ones are absolutely gorgeus! and the baby too! ;)
Austro, I haven't seen them in the stores but Europe often pilots the trends that way.
Yes, hubby totally caught me re-arranging his stuff. This also lead to a discussion that I need to tighten up my collections. I smiled at him, agreed with him and will do what I want. It is always good to give him these little victories : ))
Thank you Brat, V, Bellin, Kerry, and Austro!!
so cute :-))))))))))
Mani, thank you!
Kevin, you rock, thanks!
I think the "baby" one is NOT Japanese, but a Korean version. However I LOVE the bookends and your Tokyo tower kokeshi - I've been looking for both of those types to add to my collection for ages, but they're just too expensive online...
Hi Japanfan. Interesting about my baby possibly being adopted from Korea. Thanks for the info. Keeping the Tokyo tower but the bookends are heading to the flea. My email is on my profile.
