I was stationed in Germany when the Wall came down and the borders opened up. My wife had some relatives in East Germany (Leipzig), and she wanted to go visit them since she hadn't seen them since she was a little girl. While the borders hadn't officially been opened yet, they had been deserted already and driving through them was no problem. As we approached the abandoned border crossing, we noticed quite a few people checking things out, helping themselves to whatever was left behind in the guard shacks, etc. We stopped at one of the little shacks. Amazingly, this one hadn't been gone through yet. We "acquired" this lamp. Obviously used (I'd hate to think this was their only night time illumination in the shack), but in great condition. Unfortunately when we left Germany in 1991, the globe got cracked all the way around the top, but thanks to the wire cage, it's held in place.
i have one of those lamps with no cracks in it only a tiny hole and the model no is 400
what model no yours have on it
